The Division of Industrial Compliance and its associated boards ensure Ohioans are safe in public buildings such as businesses, educational institutions and municipal buildings. This includes drafting and applying the Ohio Building Code; conducting appeal hearings; issuing variances to code requirements; licensing commercial contractors; inspecting boilers, elevators and bedding; and regulating ski tramways. The division has responsibility for portions of the Manufactured Homes Program, and licenses installers and parks. The division also oversees Ohio's minimum wage, prevailing wage and minor labor law programs.
• Oversees and administers all activities of the Board of Building Appeals as the Executive Secretary to implement department and division policy & procedures in accordance with Ohio Revised & Administrative Codes
• Provides administrative guidance & support as needed to members of Board
• Ensures implementation of prescribed policies & procedures by scheduling appeal hearings for the Board
• Assists the Board in securing information from the Attorney General's Office to ensure Board actions conform with statutory requirements
• Receives, reviews, and processes fiscal related payments etc.
• Serves as liaison between Board & federal, state & local officials, legislators, & other interested parties
• Provides training and guidance to staff serving in a backup role for executing Board related duties
• Prepares correspondences, reports, letters, & maintains files & database records

Qualifications
Completion of undergraduate core program in business administration or field comparable to assigned area; 3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in management principles/techniques; 3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in supervisory principles/techniques; 3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in budgeting.
