Salary: $110,000 - $125,000 per year
We are partnering with a growing energy infrastructure firm seeking a seasoned Staff Accountant / Power Settlements Lead to join their finance team. This person will be a pivotal contributor, combining core accounting responsibilities with power settlements and market operations support. You will work closely with accounting leadership, operations, and senior management to ensure financial integrity, optimize processes, and support energy trading activities.
Accounting Operations
• Manage full-cycle accounting: accounts payable, invoicing & accounts receivable, month-end close, general ledger for multiple entities
• Help configure, optimize, and scale the ERP (NetSuite) to align with business growth
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and bank statements
• Establish, document, and enforce accounting policies and procedures
• Identify and implement operational improvements to boost efficiency
• Perform ad hoc financial tasks as needed
Power Settlements & Market Support
• Build and lead a Back Office team to manage settlement, invoicing, and regulatory reporting (ERCOT or relevant ISO)
• Analyze and settle short-term power market transactions
• Collaborate on management-driven initiatives and cross-functional tasks
What We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• At least 5 years of solid general accounting experience
• Minimum 3 years of power settlements experience in ISO markets (ERCOT preferred)
• Strong expertise with NetSuite (or similar ERP)
• Experience with settlements software (OATI preferred)
• Advanced Excel / Office skills
• High attention to detail and organization
• Comfortable working autonomously and in teams, at speed
• Excellent written and verbal communicator

Job Details
