Senior Accountant Job at KB Search Team in Fort Wayne

Currently seeking a Senior Accountant for a solid company in Fort Wayne, Indiana. You will assist the Finance Reporting team with financial records, transaction processing, ledger verification, and management reporting. Research and communicate information on financial statements, budgeting, and reinsurance issues.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:

• Process reinsurance transactions; review claims for reinsurance applications; calculate payables and recoveries
• Compile and report annual budget; solicit departmental input and calculate corporate budget items
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and reinsurance reports for state insurance departments
• Conduct excess liability reinsurance calculations; reconcile reports and resolve Reinsurance Masterfile discrepancies
• Support analysis for reinsurance contract negotiations
• Maintain corporate insurance policies, auto/equipment lease financing, and business continuity plan
• Represent finance department on Company committees interfacing with financial systems or reinsurance
• Prepare and file tax payments, premium tax returns, and sales/use tax statements
• Review invoices and journal entries for proper accounting and authorization; scan documentation into imaging system
• Occasionally balance monthly financial statements, upload budgets, analyze variances, and process affiliate reimbursements

• Must have Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration with 2-year accounting emphasis
• Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree is desired
• Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
• Expertise and experience in insurance accounting is desired.
• Must have 3 - 5 years general business, insurance, or related experience
• Strong Excel, budgetary planning, and analytical skills; detail-oriented with excellent communication
• Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation, Associate in Insurance
  Accounting and Finance (AIAF) designation, and/ or Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designation
  is desired.
