Media Director
Our client is seeking a Media Director to guide paid media strategy and execution during a period of organizational transition. This role will play a critical part in centralizing media operations, leading the shift to a consolidated agency model, and building scalable frameworks to support long-term growth. The ideal candidate is not only an expert in digital media but also a proven leader who thrives in matrixed environments and has successfully navigated large-scale reorganizations.
This role is a hybrid model in New York City, New York.
Media Director Responsibilities
Lead the transition from multiple legacy media partners to a unified global agency, ensuring stability and forward progress. Develop and execute a cohesive media strategy across U.S., Canadian, and European markets to drive growth and efficiency. Oversee paid search and demand generation campaigns, setting measurable goals for new client acquisition. Partner with senior leadership to align media plans with enterprise priorities and organizational change initiatives. Direct modernization of media platforms, tools, and performance measurement practices. Manage a centralized media budget exceeding $50M with accountability for effectiveness and ROI. Build, lead, and mentor a global media team, fostering collaboration and adoption of data-driven best practices. Media Director Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field required. Minimum 7 years of progressive digital media and advertising experience, with exposure to global markets. Demonstrated leadership experience managing transitions, reorganizations, or large-scale agency consolidations. Strong expertise in paid search, media planning, analytics, and modern marketing technologies. Proven ability to influence executives and align stakeholders in highly matrixed organizations. Track record of managing multimillion-dollar media budgets and vendor/agency partnerships. Skilled in developing pilots, test-and-learn programs, and business cases that drive sustainable investment. Salary: $175-$250k/year + Bonus.
