Clinical Pharmacy Specialist - Critical Care

The Department of Pharmaceutical Services provides a full range of services for patients cared for by the Medical Center at UCSF and its providers and payors. These services include, but are not limited to: drug procurement, storage, and security; safe, accurate and timely preparation and distribution of drugs; clinical pharmacy services for patients; development of drug use policies within the Medical Center; drug information services for clinicians and patients; and participation in technology assessment and quality assurance programs. Under the Department of Pharmaceutical Services, the Solid Organ Transplant Clinical Pharmacy Specialist is involved in all aspects of the medication use process at all pharmacy locations within the UCSF Health System. They may also be asked to participate in pharmaceutical care in other sectors of the Department of Pharmaceutical Services as needed. The Solid Organ Transplant Clinical Pharmacy Specialist Services performs a wide range of pharmaceutical care functions to assure that drugs prescribed for and used by patients are safe and effective. The Department of Pharmaceutical Services at UCSF has long been nationally recognized as one of the founding fathers for clinical pharmacy services, which was established in 1965. Today, the department continues to lead the profession through the integration of advanced technology & robotics, comprehensive pharmaceutical care and clinical services. Required Qualifications

Must have graduated from an accredited school of pharmacy and possess a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) or equivalent degree as determined by the National Board of Pharmacy. Completed an ASHP Accredited Postgraduate Year 1 (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency Program or equivalent practice experience. Minimum 3-5 years of directly related experience. Preferred Qualifications

Completed an ASHP Accredited Postgraduate Year 2 (PGY2) Pharmacy Residency Program in specialized area Board of Pharmacy Specialties certification License/Certification

Must possess a current license in good standing to practice pharmacy in the State of California. Current certification for Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. About UCSF
