About the Position
Schedule: This is a full-time position requiring at least 40 patient contact hours per week. Your time will be split between hospital rounding, procedure block time, and clinic visits. Administrative responsibilities and patient charting are included in your weekly schedule. Call Expectations: You will participate in a shared call rotation with community providers. The call schedule is anticipated to be one week out of every six but will not exceed one week out of every four, providing you with excellent work-life balance. Primary Work Location: You will primarily practice at the St. Charles Bend location. Key Clinical Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services including colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, capsule endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, proctoscopy, and feeding tube insertions Perform advanced procedures based on training including endoscopic ultrasound and ERCP Complete thorough patient assessments, histories, and physical exams Interpret lab results, imaging, and other diagnostic tests Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and preventive care Document all care in the electronic medical record system accurately and in a timely manner Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure excellent patient outcomes Administrative and Professional Expectations
Actively participate in department meetings and assist in shaping policies for the practice Maintain current knowledge through CME and required certifications Ensure all documentation is completed for billing and regulatory compliance Uphold St. Charles Health System’s core values of accountability, caring, and teamwork Foster a healing environment with professionalism, empathy, and respect Maintain active privileges at St. Charles Health System hospitals Qualifications
Education: Graduation from an accredited medical school, Completion of an accredited residency and Gastroenterology fellowship program, Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology Licensure and Certification: Current Oregon MD or DO license or eligibility to obtain, Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology (must achieve certification within seven years of fellowship completion), Unrestricted DEA registration, Unrestricted ability to participate in Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state healthcare programs Experience: Completion of Gastroenterology fellowship required, Two or more years of experience in a combined hospital and clinic setting is preferred Why Join St. Charles Health System?
