Rare Condition Clinical Specialist

is responsible for understanding and identifying a customer’s needs, supporting pull-through activities relative to the customer strategy, and ensuring that Ascendis Pharma is viewed as a valued partner to healthcare professionals and their patients. Responsibilities Promote the Rare Conditions portfolio and develop superior product and disease state knowledge to engage in face-to-face clinical dialogue with multi-specialty healthcare professionals. Use product knowledge and selling skills to engage in customized client discussions and interactions based on specific customer needs in a compliant and ethical manner. Drive outstanding performance to meet or exceed sales forecasts. Execute strategies and tactics to drive territory expectations while focusing on customer and patient needs. Maintain current understanding of local market, practice structures, business models, and key influencers. Call on Pediatric Endocrinologists, Geneticists, Orthopedics, Endocrinologists, and Pediatricians as primary customers. Demonstrate tenacity in challenging market access scenarios. Effectively use analytical tools to understand and evaluate the business to accomplish sales objectives. Develop, communicate, and execute a business plan to achieve and surpass goals. Proactively collaborate with peers and internal stakeholders to maximize impact. Effectively sell on approved indications and product efficacy/safety profiles to support on-label prescribing. Demonstrate administrative excellence to ensure competent management of work hours, sales call data, and other administrative items. Partner with the access team to develop strategies that drive access to the brand. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred. 5+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience; preferable rare disease and/or specialty therapeutics. Proven history of strong performance. Demonstrated high clinical acumen. Ability to work in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment. Experience with complex distribution systems and HUB services. Thrives in a collaborative culture on an accountability-based team. Must be a self-starter with excellent decision-making, judgment, and ethics. Experience working in a multi-specialty environment to address customer needs in a compliant way. Demonstrated ability to develop a successful business plan based on customer and patient needs. Ability to analyze data/metrics to assess progress and diagnose performance issues. Experience establishing new customer relationships and communicating technical information in an adaptable, ethical, and effective manner. Ability to meet all credentialing requirements and have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record. Overnight travel required. The annual base salary for this position is
