Responsibilities
Coordinate operations and outcomes of all clinical activities of Digestive Diseases & Nutrition faculty and staff located at USF and TGH locations.
Improve clinical operations, especially patient access and referring physician satisfaction; emphasize quality and safety in patient care and value-based care through facilitating hospital throughput and cancer screenings.
Co-lead the TGH GI & GI Surgery Service Line and partner with TGH administrative leadership to enhance the national reputation of services at TGH and expand top-rated gastroenterology services at TGH and its sites.
Contribute to the Division’s academic culture by launching a clinical research portfolio, expanding clinical trials, and engaging faculty in scholarly work.
Mentor faculty who practice at affiliate sites (e.g., VA, Moffitt); support inclusion in research and publications, mentorship for promotion and tenure, and leadership in fellowship education outputs.
Support and advance a competitive fellowship program and integrate discovery and innovation with clinical practice.
Qualifications
Medical degree from an accredited institution or equivalent; demonstrated achievement in teaching, academic research, and service; eligible for appointment as Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
For Associate/Full Professor — scholarly work in refereed journals and recognition as an authority in the field.
Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License (or foreign equivalent); obtain and maintain a full unrestricted FL Medical License and credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan; be a medical staff member in good standing at assigned hospitals.
Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
