RayzeBio, a Bristol Myers Squibb company, is a dynamic biotechnology company headquartered in San Diego, CA. The company is focused on improving survival of people with cancer by harnessing the power of targeted radioisotopes. RayzeBio is developing innovative drugs against targets of solid tumors.
RayzeBio is seeking a highly independent and hands-on Director, Applied Generative AI to lead the company’s adoption and implementation of next-generation artificial intelligence capabilities. This role requires a self-starter who thrives with minimal oversight, proactively identifies priorities, and drives the strategy and execution for AI initiatives that deliver rapid, measurable impact.
You will be expected to build and nurture internal and external relationships, orchestrate collaboration across multiple functional and supplier teams, and ensure appropriate alignment with BMS’s broader enterprise strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic and technical leadership for the identification, development, and deployment of AI, LLM, and agentic automation solutions across RayzeBio. Operate with a high degree of independence and accountability—setting priorities, making critical decisions, and delivering outcomes with minimal supervision. Lead cross-functional coordination by collaborating with all teams at RayzeBio, as well as with stakeholders at BMS. Build, maintain, and expand strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders—including enterprise partners and supplier/vendor teams. Guide and, as needed, oversee external suppliers, providing clear direction and technical guidance to secure high quality, on-time project delivery. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. 10+ years of progressive experience delivering advanced AI/ML solutions, including demonstrated hands-on development, solution deployment, and cross-functional project leadership. Demonstrable experience leading the enterprise adoption and integration of generative AI or large-scale automation tools—preferably in life sciences, biotech, or healthcare. Proficiency in Python and machine learning frameworks, as well as LLM and agentic AI solutions.
