Senior Mission Software Engineer, Maritime
Anduril is seeking a Senior Mission Software Engineer to join the Maritime Software Engineering team. The role focuses on delivering mission-critical software for maritime platforms, solving complex problems across networking, autonomy, systems integration, robotics, and more. You will work closely with vehicle platform software engineers and end-users to ensure cohesive, high-quality products that meet mission objectives. Responsibilities Own the software solutions that are deployed to customers Write code to improve products for specific mission sets, coordinating with the vehicle software platform team to scale capabilities to more customers Collaborate across multiple teams to plan, build, and test complex functionality Create and analyze metrics used for debugging and monitoring Triage issues, determine root cause, and coordinate next steps Partner with end-users to translate needs into features while balancing user experience and engineering constraints Travel up to 10% to build, test, and deploy capabilities in real-world environments Required Qualifications Strong engineering background from industry or school in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics 3+ years of C++, Python, or Rust experience in a Linux development environment Experience building software solutions involving significant data processing and analysis Ability to understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases A desire to work on critical software with real-world impact Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance Preferred Qualifications Background in Physics, Mathematics, and/or Motion Planning for modeling & simulation (M&S) and physical systems 3+ years of C++ experience in a Linux development environment Experience developing multi-agent autonomous systems and deploying in real-world environments Feature and algorithm development with understanding of behavior trees Experience developing software/hardware for flight systems and safety-critical functionality Distributed communication networks and message standards Knowledge of military systems and operational tactics What We Value in Mission Software Customer Facing – Engineers are closest to customers and end-users, addressing operational challenges Mission First – Expedient, scalable, and pragmatic execution with focus on the mission Small Project Wrangling = Large Project Impact – Ability to translate projects to production and coordinate with central functions Embrace Challenge – Responsible for the mission, developing technical self-sufficiency, prioritizing, and integrating new components Compensation & Benefits US Salary Range: $168,000-$252,000 USD.
