Overview
Senior Manager, Systems Engineering - with TS/SCI clearance. This is a customer-facing role and will require you to be on-site in Northern Virginia. This is NOT a remote position. Salesforce is seeking an Engineering Leader to join the Build and Automation organization. Working closely with counterparts in the Infrastructure and R&D organizations, this team builds industry-leading software (CRM, Data Cloud, and Agentforce) for our sponsoring customer. As the leader of the Build and Automation organization, your team expands offerings for our customers by building features and services into our existing platform. Your team also handles "away team" functions, partnering with commercial teams to adapt offerings for restricted environments and craft custom solutions to solve unique, scalable problems. Your team serves as technical mentors to engineers across the broader program. Note:
Qualification for this job is contingent on acceptable results from a background investigation and maintaining the required government clearance. Responsibilities
Coordinate between build engineers and commercially led service teams that own and operate services in restricted environments. Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple priorities to solve sophisticated issues quickly. Ensure work by the Build and Automation team aligns with internal compliance policies and directives. Discuss and resolve technical issues and customer concerns with other technical staff as needed. Participate in root cause analyses (RCAs) and hand them off to the Global Solutions team. Identify work opportunities and assist with preparation of technical proposals as needed. Automate detection and resolution of recurring build issues in restricted environments. Minimum Requirements
Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required Related 4-year technical degree or equivalent work experience 4+ years of proven experience managing a team of developers or engineers in a restricted environment Systems engineering experience in an enterprise-scale internet service engineering or support role Mentoring/training systems engineers and systems development engineers Experience influencing culture across multiple teams and disciplines, including teams without prior restricted-environment experience Program and product management skills with a track record of delivering technical programs, projects, and products in a multi-team environment Foundations in systems engineering (networking, storage, operating systems) Experience leading development lifecycle processes and deployment automation Experience in Intelligence Community (IC) or Department of Defense (DOD) environments Preferred Qualifications
BS or higher in Computer Science or related field Expertise in Kubernetes deployments and development Hands-on experience configuring and running AWS (CLI/SDKs) Experience in Docker orchestration and management Data and metrics-driven approach to analysis and decision-making Experience in IC and DOD environments Experience with distributed systems at scale Qualification for this job is contingent upon acceptable results from a background investigation and obtaining and maintaining the required U.S. Government security clearance.
