As Boys & Girls Club of Metro Baltimore’s Arts, Culture & Expression Manager, you will do just that! This role develops and implements programs, activities, and partnerships that empower youth to explore, create, and express themselves through arts and cultural programming. The Arts, Culture & Expression Manager designs and oversees the Club’s recording studio, visual arts and performing arts programs, ensuring youth have safe, inclusive, and engaging opportunities to discover their voices, talents, and cultural pride. With a focus on these areas, this role positions creativity as a pathway to key SEL components of self-awareness and relationship skills that build confidence, empathy, and belonging. The Manager collaborates closely with staff, families, and community partners to celebrate identity and create a Club environment where youth thrive in expression and culture pride and cross-cultural awareness. Responsibilities:

Establish a Club environment that celebrates creativity, identity, and belonging as core pathways to youth success. Lead music programming by facilitating studio-based learning, songwriting, production, and recording projects that build self-awareness and teamwork. Lead visual arts programming including painting, digital media, design, and cultural art projects that encourage identity development and reflection. Lead performing and cultural showcases through exhibitions and events that highlight youth voice, talent, and collaboration. Partner with local, national programs/organizations to provide youth a variety of learning experiences. Supervise and support the growth and development of 1-2 dedicated arts-focused support staff. Training and Development:

Provide direction, supervision, and professional development to staff and volunteers engaged in arts and cultural activities. Train support staff to use arts and cultural expression as tools for social-emotional growth, particularly self-awareness and relationship skills. Use local, national, and organizational data to inform youth programmatic and social emotional needs. Design a fun, engaging Club Day/experiences with and for youth in their areas of interest and stretch areas. Marketing and Public Relations:

Represent the Club in community arts, cultural, and creative youth development initiatives to build trust and visibility. Promote youth achievements in arts and culture through showcases, exhibits, concerts, and social media. Strategic Planning:

Ensure all arts and cultural programs align with BGCMB’s mission, strategic roadmap, and BGCA Youth Development Outcomes. Develop program goals and outcomes that advance youth creativity, cultural pride, and engagement in the arts, with a focus on building self-awareness and relationship skills through creative expression. Resource Management:

Oversee maintenance and safe use of music studio equipment, instruments, and visual arts materials. Maintain proper records and reporting on participation, outcomes, and the impact of arts and cultural programs. Partnership Development:

Manage partnerships with local artists, musicians, cultural institutions, and schools. Develop collaborative projects that bring professional artists, teaching residencies, and cultural leaders into the Club. Miscellaneous:

Perform other duties as assigned to ensure a physically and psychologically safe Club. Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and/or a minimum of four years’ work experience in youth development, arts education, music production, or creative programming. Considerable knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, and programs of Boys & Girls Clubs, and principles of nonprofit youth development. Demonstrated ability to design, direct, and facilitate arts and cultural programs, particularly in music production and visual arts. Knowledge of how arts programming can support social-emotional growth, especially in building self-awareness and relationship skills. Strong skills in supervision, staff training, and volunteer engagement. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with staff, families, schools, and community partners. CPR and First Aid Certification required. Valid Driver’s License.
