Overview
Director of Financial Planning & Analysis – Design Entities (Director of FP&A) is responsible for the financial leadership of GPLA and IDtBS, partners with design entity leaders, and drives consistent processes and accurate financials across locations. Responsibilities
Lead in a shared leadership environment with a focus on influence and collaboration to achieve positive results. Ensure the FP&A function is scalable for growth by implementing process improvements and leveraging data and technology. Perform forward-looking business scenario analysis to inform leadership of opportunities, risks, and operational needs. Support Design Entities strategies and ensure alignment with long-term company objectives. Provide timely and accurate monthly financial information and risk/opportunity assessments for GPLA, IDtBS, and the DPR Enterprise F&A. Direct day-to-day accounting for GPLA & IDtBS; ensure compliance with accounting policies, local regulations, and internal controls. Support annual Business Planning and lead finance initiatives to improve processes within accounting. Provide financial analysis to drive strategic decisions; act as a strategic business partner to GPLA and IDtBS leadership and core teams. Specific Areas of Focus
Manage and update the WIP schedule monthly for leadership review; evaluate project health. Prepare, review, and finalize monthly financial packages; submit to DPR Enterprise F&A. Generate monthly MDAs for Design Entities leadership review and alignment. Assist in backlog data, CRM opportunities, and market projections. Review overhead cost trends; monitor utilization rates for direct labor and overhead; participate in annual reviews. Customize financial reports as required by operations; manage ERP reports, general ledger, chart of accounts, and financial statement mapping. Review financial details of new projects and contracts for accuracy before monthly reporting. Attend Leadership meetings and provide financial updates and ad hoc analyses as requested. Accounting
Understand key owner contract provisions affecting accounting (billing terms, rates, incentives, penalties, contingencies, audit provisions). Identify and communicate POC/BIE/CIE issues to project teams and leadership; review monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Drive accounting best practices and ensure timely invoicing and collections; assess cash flow capacity and forecast needs. General
Critical thinking, problem solving, and proactive identification of trends and issues. Clear, regular communication with leaders; operate in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Build strong working relationships and a positive work environment; strong organizational skills and time management. Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on opportunities for improvement and efficiency. Education/Experience Requirements
10+ years of accounting and/or finance experience. BS in Accounting or related field (finance, audit, or tax). Proficiency with accounting software; ERP experience (Ajera a plus); knowledge of EPM/Oracle is beneficial.
