Communications Specialist - Solano Campus
The Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies that promote the institution and division’s mission, enhance its reputation, and engage key audiences. This role involves creating compelling content across multiple platforms, collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure consistency in messaging and branding. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with a team, is a creative thinker, has the organizational ability to execute a plan of action, and is technically proficient. Key Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in creating and executing strategic communications and communications plans. Working knowledge of and ability to apply standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to market analysis and communications to develop conclusions and make recommendations. Ability to analyze and select pertinent facts and integrate them into communication vehicles. Thorough knowledge of web communication techniques, vehicles and formats. Ability to effectively use web technology to achieve communication goals. Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret, organize, and present information and ideas in written or presentation form. Education And Experience: Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university and three years of progressively responsible experience in marketing and public relations, or a related field. A graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Salary And Benefits: Anticipated Hiring Range: $65,500 - $74,000 Per Year Classification Range: $49,752 - $90,000 Per Year Cal Poly offers a best-in-class benefits program, including health, dental and vision insurance, retirement participation in the Public Employees' Retirement System, and educational benefits for eligible employees.
