The Madhani Lab at UC San Francisco is seeking a Full Specialist to study the human fungal pathogen Cryptococcus neoformans. The primary job duties include leading efforts to generate a genetic interaction map of C. neoformans using cutting-edge CRISPR/Cas9-based methods.
The selected candidate will work closely with research technicians, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students. Required qualifications include a PhD in Genetics, Molecular or Cell Biology or related disciplines, 4 years of postdoctoral experience, and experience working with fungal pathogens and high-throughput sequencing.
Responsibilities include:
Leading efforts to generate a genetic interaction map of C. neoformans
Assisting in the design and analysis of high-throughput genetic and tagging experiments
Qualifications:
PhD (or equivalent degree) in Genetics, Molecular or Cell Biology or related disciplines
4 years of postdoctoral experience
4 years of experience working with fungal pathogens
3 or more years of experience with high-throughput sequencing
3 or more years of experience using CRISPR-based tools for manipulating fungal genomes
