Editorial planning, comms team engagement planning, writing, storytelling, and serving as deputy lead for communications strategy. Key Responsibilities

Editorial and Team Planning: Own and manage the corporate editorial calendar; ensure integration of key enterprise priorities into internal and external narratives. Leads planning and development for quarterly corporate communications staff meetings and weekly team meetings, planning calls and all-hands meetings. Works cross-functionally within corporate communications to share updates throughout the organization. Foundation and CSR Communications Strategy: Direct messaging around GEICO Foundation pillars (driver safety, catastrophe response, education); manage communications for associate engagement and volunteerism; ensure alignment to business strategy and local market impact. Content Development: Draft enterprise messaging, executive speeches, long-form storytelling, and flagship communications products (press releases, op-eds, features, town halls, intranet features). Cross-Channel Coordination: Partner with external media, marketing, and internal communications to repurpose stories across channels for maximum impact. Employer Brand and Recruitment Support: Collaborate with HR and Marketing to reinforce GEICO’s associate value proposition; amplify associate stories externally on social/earned channels. Analytics and Reporting: Track content performance, develop reports on reach and impact, and refine storytelling strategy based on data. Strategic Communications Deputy: Act as day-to-day point of contact in the director’s absence; provide counsel and oversight to direct reports. Mentorship and Staff Management: Oversee new specialist; build writing and campaign planning skills; onboard new team members and provide access to resources/tools. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; preferred in English, journalism, communications, public relations, or related field, or equivalent years of experience. 10+ years of experience developing and executing communications and brand strategies. Excellent writing skills and the ability to communicate ideas creatively and concisely. Passion for finding new and creative ways to reach an audience. Ability to work across teams in a highly collaborative way. Strong project management skills; ability to juggle multiple priorities. Must be able to manage direct reports. Annual Salary
