About the role:
The Director, Network Planning & Inventory Management is responsible for leading the global strategy and governance for network planning, inventory optimization, and material availability across the fleet and shore-based operations. This role leads the development and execution of strategies to optimize end-to-end inventory visibility, planning accuracy, and material availability across the global supply chain network. The role balances demand with supply through data-driven decision-making and collaboration with procurement, quality, operations, and finance. It ensures alignment with the company’s performance objectives, including cost efficiency, service levels, and operational readiness in support of NCLH’s multi-brand fleet operations.
Responsibilities
Lead the global strategy and governance for network planning, inventory optimization, and material availability across the fleet and shore-based operations.
Develop and implement tactical and long-term inventory planning frameworks that ensure material readiness while minimizing excess, obsolescence, and write-offs.
Own the supply network design and replenishment models, using data analytics to identify bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and optimization opportunities.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across inventory and materials management processes in collaboration with cross-functional partners (e.g., Procurement, Quality, Finance, Operations).
Lead and mentor a team of planning and inventory professionals, ensuring high engagement, strong performance, and alignment to NCLH’s core values.
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as OTIF (On-Time In-Full), inventory turns, supply chain cost as % of COGS, and material availability.
Support executive decision-making by delivering scenario analysis, risk mitigation strategies, and supply planning insights.
Manage budget development, ownership, and cost control activities for inventory operations.
Lead strategic projects focused on planning systems enhancements, technology integrations, and supply network resilience.
Represent the department in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), executive reviews, and cross-brand supply chain initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum 8 years of subject matter expertise in supply chain planning, inventory management, or materials management.
Minimum 4 years of leadership experience managing multi-functional supply chain teams.
Proven experience developing and implementing network-level planning strategies within a global or highly distributed operational environment.
Bachelor's degree (master's degree preferred) in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
Required Skills
Strategic planning and analytical skills with ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
Deep expertise in inventory planning, forecasting, and supply network optimization.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
Proficient in KPI development, reporting, and performance management.
Ability to lead change, drive process improvement, and influence cross-functional teams.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and matrixed organization.
Familiarity with compliance, risk management, and quality requirements in supply chain operations.
Preferred Skills
Strong understanding of planning systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Kinaxis, or similar) and inventory optimization tools.
Experience working in regulated or complex industries such as maritime, aerospace, manufacturing, or pharmaceuticals is preferred.
