Responsibilities
Provide autonomous nursing care consistent with the ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Assess and provide nursing actions appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. Exercise independent judgment within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care. Deliver patient- and family-centered care in a fast-paced environment and contribute to quality outcomes and the patient experience. Demonstrate self-determination, adaptability to complex environments, effective communication, and participation in shared governance. Maintain professional development and lifelong learning as part of role expectations. Minimum Qualifications
Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing. RN License issued by the State of California. BART or BLS and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to obtain UCSD ART within six (6) months of hire date. A minimum of one (1) year of acute care RN experience at the Progressive Care Unit/Intermediate Care Unit (PCU/IMU) level or higher. Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and consistently demonstrate empathy and kindness to all staff and patients. Must have excellent skills to communicate and influence effectively with all levels of staff, physicians, patients and external constituents, both verbally and in writing. Demonstrates critical thinking and clinical skills to identify and implement nursing interventions and evaluate results. Preferred Qualifications
BSN or MSN. Professional Nursing Certification, preferably PCCN or CCRN. Two (2+) or more years of Progressive Care or Intermediate Care RN experience. Experience working with vulnerable patient populations. Special Conditions
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs. Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical. Selected candidate may be hired at the CNIII level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council. Compensation and Benefits
Pay Transparency Act: Annual Full Pay Range: $131,335 - $184,078 (will be prorated if appointment percentage
