INTERDISCIPLINARY ARCHITECTURAL HISTORIAN/HISTORIC ARCHITECT
You will serve as an INTERDISCIPLINARY ARCHITECTURAL HISTORIAN/HISTORIC ARCHITECT in the Environmental Business Line (EV) of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG SYSTEMS COMMAND PAC. Architectural Historian (0170) Salary Range for GS-12: $92,520.00 - $120,282.00. Historic Architect (0808) Salary Range for GS-12: $95,044.00 - $122,806.00. Duties
Conduct Section 106 consultation of the National Historic Preservation Act and prepare Section 106 agreement documents. Prepare documents related to historic preservation including management plans, survey reports, treatment recommendations, statements of work and interpretive plans. Serve as a subject matter expert in historic preservation and cultural resources management: conduct surveys, evaluations and supporting studies for National Register nominations. Work collaboratively with environmental staff members, contractors, and customers to identify historic property and cultural resources requirements, evaluate risks, and complete products and services. Support NEPA analyses through preparation and review of NEPA documents, participation in public meetings, and provide related support for NHPA Section 106 consultations. Qualifications
Resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must include: 1) Conduct Section 106 consultation and prepare Section 106 documents; 2) Prepare documents related to historic preservation including management plans, survey reports, treatment recommendations, statements of work and interpretive plans; 3) Serve as a subject matter expert in historic preservation and cultural resources management: conduct surveys, evaluations and supporting studies for National Register nominations. History Series (0170) Degree: history; or related field with at least 18 semester hours in history. Or combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in history, or a major in a related field including at least 18 semester hours in history. Architecture Series (0808) Degree: architecture; or related field with at least 60 semester hours of coursework in architecture or related disciplines (at least 30 hours in architectural design, and 6 hours in each of structural technology, properties of materials and methods of construction, and environmental control systems); or combination of education and experience that demonstrates a thorough knowledge of professional architecture principles and applications.
