Overview

This position is for a full stack architect focused on our digital projects for mobile and online banking. We are looking for candidates that have large scale mobile & online application development, operations & architecture experience. While mobile & online banking experience would be great, we are really looking for a seasoned mobile & online contributor. Understanding the convergence of web, mobile & tablet will be essential as the solutions focus on both the device side & server side REST API and internet applications. Many solutions will interface with & extend into the greater financial application & system landscape beyond the DMZ.

Responsibilities

Depth & Scope: Seasoned individual contributor with expert knowledge of enterprise and/or functional domains and a track record working with architecture frameworks, technology, tools, processes and procedures. Exceptional collaboration, communication and client-facing skills. Big-picture thinker able to anticipate architectural gaps and identify emerging trends through business acumen and technical knowledge of TD and its applications, programming languages, industry best practices, Bank standards, infrastructure and architectural design/solutions. Architect assigned to work autonomously on high-profile, complex and/or high-risk technology projects with significant impact to the organization. Customer Accountabilities: Applies multi-disciplinary expertise to design software (applications, infrastructure, middleware) and guide sub-component development by different teams; emphasizes applications and data as differentiators for customer experience; advises on technology stack suitability and security/scalability approaches. Drives continual upgrading and innovation on server-side and user-side features to reduce technical debt and build resilient solutions. Leads code reviews, uses build and deployment automation, and provides proof points for developers to build on; offers critical suggestions for fixes across technology stacks. Monitors progress and collaborates with designers, engineers and stakeholders to ensure necessary features are developed within the assigned portfolio. Designs tests and supports issue analysis, production issue resolution and test phases. Collaborates with Practices to drive capability creation; mentors junior colleagues to stay current with technologies and trends. Shareholder Accountabilities: Sets service-level objectives (SLO) and focuses on reliability, scalability, and architectural infrastructure; develops observability standards; engages with governance, risk, compliance and audit groups to address risk issues; participates in enterprise initiatives; monitors product status and ensures alignment with architecture and development standards; identifies architectural gaps and emerging trends; maps business problems to technology solutions; maintains change tracking and fosters knowledge sharing; manages risk and escalation of high-risk activities; stays informed on regulatory trends. Qualifications

Education & Experience: Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate (Graduate degree preferred); 10+ years of relevant experience building platforms; experience with CI/CD, pair programming and/or test-driven development is a plus; demonstrated experience leading technical tool integrations in complex environments. Preferred Qualifications: 5 years of experience in the online & mobile application space; UI development experience (Angular, Angular.js, Reactive, Objective-C/Swift or Java/Kotlin); REST API development (Java preferred); databases; authentication, OAuth; load balancing devices; DNS; TCP/IP; Linux and Windows OS knowledge.
