What You’ll Do As a Data Architect for Slalom, you will work in small, collaborative teams with minimal oversight to design and deliver innovative solutions on AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform using core cloud data warehouse tools, distributed processing engines, event streaming platforms, and other modern data technologies. You will typically be responsible for understanding the client’s current environment and technical challenges, their plans for evolving or creating their future state architecture, and leading the analysis, architecture, design, and development of the client’s next generation Data Platform Solution. You will leverage your communication skills to describe the pros and cons of your solution design, drive consensus with Slalom and client teams, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery of development items. Time permitting, you will participate in pre-sales activities including helping define approaches to solving a prospect’s technical challenges and assisting the business development team with estimates and project planning.

Work in a hybrid environment with in-person collaboration as needed.

Must be within commutable distance to one of Slalom’s listed office locations.

What You’ll Bring As a Data Architect in the Data Engineering discipline, you will bring broad experience in architecture design, deep expertise in one or more data engineering technologies, a curious mindset for client engagements, and a hunger for fearless experimentation to meet client data challenges. You are a self-starter who can break down large problems and share findings with project teams and the broader Slalom Build community.

You will have opportunities to gain hands-on experience with new data platforms and programming languages across a range of technologies including:

Modern Data Workflows (Apache Airflow, dbt, Dagster)

Compensation And Benefits Slalom invests in benefits that include time off and holidays, parental leave, 401(k) with match, health/dental/vision coverage, fertility and adoption assistance, and disability coverage. We offer a yearly reimbursement for well-being-related expenses and other insurance discounts. For this position, the base salary range is $125,500 to $172,000 depending on experience, with eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend on skills, experience, location, and other factors. Salary ranges may change over time.
