Focus Healthcare Partners LLC
Focus Healthcare Partners LLC ("Focus") is a real estate investment and asset management company targeting the United States healthcare real estate sector. Focus makes direct equity, mezzanine debt and preferred equity investments in senior housing properties as well as investments in special situation opportunities including distressed debt.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on the overall and day-to-day accounting for a real estate investment firm via discretionary private equity funds and individual transactions of senior housing properties which will vary in size, structure and complexity. Property level accounting is performed by Focus’ 3rd party management parties and will be overseen by the candidate.
Responsibilities
Prepare quarterly/annual Fund financial statements for our institutional LPs (non-SEC reporting)
Calculate Net Asset Value (NAV) for all Funds and Co-Investments
Oversee the process to calculate the Fair Market Value of each investment using discounted cash flows
Oversee/supervise the process to convert, load, and reconcile property manager financial statements into Focus’ general ledger (Yardi)
Record eliminations entries and prepare and review various entity consolidations
Oversee/supervise the accounting activity for the Funds, REITs, Joint Ventures, and Co-Investment structures
Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger for the parent company Focus
Supervise the day-to-day activity of a Fund Accountant
Supervise and/or prepare the required lender reporting for each property
Assist the Controller in performing the annual audit
Become proficient in Yardi to assist in preparing ad hoc analysis from the Controller, Acquisitions or Asset Management
Assist Asset Management in the preparation of Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports
Help manage the corporate accounts payable process
Assist in treasury cash management
Assist in the annual insurance renewals, placing insurance at a property’s acquisition and completing various insurance requests as needed
Work together with Asset Management and the Acquisition teams on acquisitions, ongoing property oversight and dispositions
Manage syndicated line of credit
Qualifications
Ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of experience in public accounting or private equity fund accounting
Confident self-starter and quick learner who requires minimal supervision and is comfortable with ambiguity
Exhibits a high level of responsiveness, sense of urgency and passion for always doing the best work possible
Experience with analyzing financial statements to understand the specific drivers of a business
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
Strong quantitative, written, and oral communication skills
Ability and desire to work evenings and weekends, as necessary
This is a fully in-office position located at our downtown Chicago office
Willingness to travel as needed
