Technical Program Manager II, Learning and Sustainability, Sustainability Metrics Accounting

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. As the Technical Program Manager, you will support the transformation of Google’s Environmental Accounting Program from a reporting-focused function into an engine, providing automated and timely sustainability insights that drive critical business decisions. The team is committed to transforming sustainability data into clear and timely intelligence. The Global Sustainability team enables Google to build a more sustainable future for everyone by driving strategy and solutions. We drive the development and implementation of Google’s global sustainability strategy to further empower action, ensure alignment and prioritization, identify leadership opportunities, and mitigate risks. Responsibilities
Prioritize program goals, understand and translate other stakeholders’ needs into program goals and prioritized deliverables with minimal assistance, and contribute to decisions on prioritizing goals and deliverables. Analyze datasets relating to energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and other sustainability and business metrics, including cross-functional datasets. Translate findings into clear, concise, and compelling metrics, narratives, and supporting graphics for both technical and non-technical audiences. Define user requirements and translate business needs into data questions. Identify patterns, trends, and causes of observed changes and predict near-term changes in performance, enabling proactive strategy adjustments. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 2 years of experience in program management. Experience with SQL, data visualization tools such as Tableau, AI analytics solutions, data collection, and statistical modeling techniques. Experience estimating sustainability metrics such as GHG (Scope 1, 2, and 3), water, energy, supply chain emissions, or decarbonization, according to the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol and other relevant frameworks. Preferred Qualifications
2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects. Experience working with sustainability, ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance), or corporate social responsibility data. Experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) solutions in the data life cycle in analytics. Experience in data collection, data mining, and statistical modeling techniques (e.g., regression, predictive modeling, time series analysis).
