Bringing a friendly voice to connect callers to their destination as part of patient and family centered care at UW Medicine. Provide prompt courteous service using excellent communication skills with internal and external customers. Be part of a team dedicated to supporting UW Medicine where Patients Are First. Department Description

UW Medicine Telecom Team provides 24/7 coverage answering the UWMC and Harborview Medical Center switchboards. We value excellent customer service, timely response, accurate dispatch and paging, and courteous processing of calls. We receive and route calls for patients, families, and staff. Primary Job Responsibilities

Answer all incoming calls to the medical centers’ main telephone numbers. Transfer external and internal calls. Provide visitor information and general customer service reception. Receive and dispatch all emergency communication calls, including trauma codes, code blue, and other medical emergencies. Paging services for patients, staff, and medical providers. Monitor and respond to alarms. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED; AND one year of experience as a Telephone Communications Operator or equivalent. Six months of additional qualifying experience may substitute for required education. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to work in a team setting. Computer skills, including competent keyboard abilities. Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications, except when there are legal requirements (license, certification, and/or registration). About UW Medicine

Pay Range Minimum: $44,100.00 annual Pay Range Maximum: $54,300.00 annual Night Shift Premium: $1.50/hour Benefits information: see benefits for temporary/per diem and less-than-half-time positions.
