CAD Draft Nesting

Job Description We are looking for a CAD Draft Nesting Technician located in 77066. The CAD Draft Nesting Technician will be responsible for creating efficient cutting layouts and preparing detailed CAD drawings for sheet metal, structural components, or other materials. The ideal candidate will have experience with nesting software and CAD programs, strong attention to detail, and the ability to optimize material usage while meeting production timelines. Key Responsibilities: Develop and optimize nesting layouts for CNC cutting and fabrication. Create, modify, and maintain detailed CAD drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other relevant CAD software. Work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and efficient. Verify material usage and minimize waste through strategic nesting planning. Review project specifications and drawings for accuracy and compliance with customer requirements. Maintain proper documentation and version control for all CAD files. Qualifications: Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software. Experience with nesting software or CNC layout planning. Strong understanding of material properties, cutting processes, and fabrication workflows. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
