General Manager Company: Sports Facilities Management, LLC
Location: Elizabethtown, KY
Department: Operations
Reports to: VP of Venue Management
Status: Full-time (Exempt)
Position Summary The General Manager is responsible for financial and operating performance. Objectives include profitability, client and stakeholder relations, accountability aligned with values, growth achievement, interdepartmental collaboration, employee retention and development, and implementation of major business initiatives. Responsibilities also include managing overall Food & Beverage operations and overall event operations.
Primary Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
Analyze operations to evaluate performance, identify cost-reduction opportunities, and suggest policy changes
Oversee booking and execution of entertainment events including concerts, alternative entertainment, and community events
Develop and implement P&L structure for the venue and event settlements to ensure financial performance aligns with strategy
Appoint department heads or managers and delegate responsibilities
Coordinate with ownership, advisors, and staff to discuss issues and resolve problems
Develop and implement budgetary control systems and administrative processes
Direct financial and budget activities to fund operations and maximize investments
Direct human resources activities and establishment of major departments
Direct, plan, and implement organizational policies and activities to maximize returns and productivity
Implement corrective action plans for organizational or departmental problems
Prepare and present reports on activities, expenses, budgets, and applicable regulations
Represent the organization at official functions or delegate representation
Serve as liaison between organizations, shareholders, and outside entities
Administer site location selection, construction needs, and equipment/supplies provisioning
Coordinate activities related to production, pricing, sales, and distribution of products
Negotiate or approve contracts with providers, suppliers, and agencies
Prepare budgets for approval and program funding
Review reports and recommend changes as needed
Schedule and monitor staff training on operational, safety, and legal responsibilities
Any additional duties assigned by the VP of Venue Management
Minimum Qualifications
Prior responsibility in daily P&L management and budget oversight of $10M+
Proven experience in organizing, booking, and operating entertainment events (concerts, alternative entertainment, community functions)
Operational knowledge of F&B, entertainment, parties, corporate events, and team building (preferred)
Experience working with convention & visitor bureaus, promoters, and event management in an entertainment genre
Minimum of 7 years of management experience
Operational knowledge of risk management, kitchen, entertainment, parties, corporate events, teambuilding, and leadership development
Entertainment programming and event operations expertise, including production, ticketing, and event preparation
Bachelor\'s degree in business management, sports management, marketing, hospitality, food and beverage, or related field, or equivalent experience
Travel Requirements
Some travel involved
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
Will be required to sit for extended periods while operating a computer
Office and facility have intermittent noise
Must be able to lift fifty pounds waist-high
Ability to travel to national and regional events
