TikTok's U.S. Data Security (USDS) is seeking a Data Engineer to build, optimize, and grow one of the world’s largest data platforms. Your work will have a direct impact on the company's core products and hundreds of millions of users. This role follows a hybrid work schedule that requires in-office work 3 days a week, or as directed by your manager/department. The organization regularly reviews the hybrid model, and requirements may change. Responsibilities
Design and build data transformations efficiently and reliably for different purposes (e.g., reporting, growth analysis, multi-dimensional analysis). Design and implement reliable, scalable, robust, and extensible big data systems that support core products and business needs. Establish solid design and engineering best practices for engineers as well as non-technical stakeholders. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Statistics, Computer Science or a related technical field involving software or systems engineering, or equivalent practical experience. 2+ years of experience with data analytics and data engineering, including data cleaning/preprocessing, data ingestion and ETL (Extraction, Transformation & Loading), data analysis, and dashboard development. 2+ years of experience building dashboards in Tableau, Power BI or similar visualization tools. Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in distributed data processing using Big Data technologies (Spark/Scala, Python, Hadoop/HDFS/AWS/S3, Kafka). Proficiency in data modeling, data design, SQL and databases. 3+ years of experience with Big Data technologies (Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive, Spark, Metastore, Presto, Flume, Kafka, ClickHouse, Flink, etc.).
