Our client is a multi-strategy private equity firm based in Dallas, TX. Job Overview: Our Client is seeking to hire a Vice President of Business Development to join a dynamic sourcing team and become a leading contributor towards their sourcing model. The Vice President will play a critical role in identifying

proprietary investment opportunities

and building long-term relationships with proprietary deal sources. This position offers the opportunity to lead the development of new relationships through originating proprietary investment opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated successful track record of new investment opportunity origination, ability to work collaboratively and drive results through a data-drive approach. The role will be based in Dallas, Texas. Travel is required. Role Responsibilities: Sourcing and building a strong pipeline of proprietary investment opportunities that align with the firm's investment objectives and core strategies via direct outreach to founders, attending relevant industry conferences and other networking Collaborate with the investment team and portfolio company executives to develop a proprietary deal pipeline and ensure effective coordination of outreach efforts as well as a seamless transition of opportunities to the investment team for evaluation and execution. Broaden and deepen the firm's network of proprietary deal sources, interfacing with founders, entrepreneurs, and corporate executives. Represent the firm's values in the marketplace while building and enhancing its brand presence. Utilize data to create, organize, and prioritize target lists, identify areas of opportunity for sourcing deals, strengthen relationships, and advocate for the firm's objectives with deal sources. Enhance systems and processes to optimize proprietary deal sourcing efforts and organize marketing initiatives related to deal origination, including management of the CRM system (DealCloud). Coordinate and schedule sourcing trip meetings and conference activities. Build relationship networks to gain access to decision makers and key industry contacts. Leverage research to prepare for meetings to thoughtfully engage with senior executives. Required Experience, Qualifications, and Skills: 5+ years of relevant professional experience - ideally buyside M&A experience, with a demonstrated ability to source and close proprietary opportunities (must understand deal teams, M&A process, etc.) Proven track record of deal sourcing and origination. Exceptional relationship building and networking skills. Strong ability to develop close relationships with business owners and convert (close) proprietary opportunities. Strategic and collaborative approach coupled with strong data analytical skills. Experience using data for thesis creation, pipeline development, and informed decision-making. Strong work ethic, detail- and action-oriented with a continuous improvement mentality. Excellent communication skills, motivated to contribute and grow in a dynamic environment. Well organized with outstanding project management skills, including ability to prioritize and manage conflicting tasks and deadlines. Ability to flourish and navigate in a rapidly changing organization and operate comfortably with ambiguity and complexity. Self-motivated with a problem-solver and ownership mentality. Independent and critical thinker with the ability to analyze and glean insights from data and research to make decisions.
