Our client is looking for a Sr. Network Engineer to join their team. This person will be responsible for building, implementing, and supporting Network and Data Center solutions. This person should have experience with Cisco routing & switching, SDWAN, and wireless. If this person has experience with Cloud technologies or ACI, that would be a huge plus. On-site vs remote: Corporate HQ is in Silver Spring, MD. Data Center is located in Washington, DC at the main hospital and in Equinix in VA. This is a hybrid position in Silver Spring, MD. Top Skills
7+ years of experience as a hands-on Network Engineer building, implementing, and supporting network hardware and devices Extensive experience with Cisco routing & switching (EIGRP and BGP protocols) Experience building and configuring ACI within a Data Center Experience with SD-WAN and wireless; Cisco ISE experience is a plus; moving to DNAC Responsibilities
Lead engineering services for network hardware and software, planning system maintenance and support; develop system management strategies for various network platforms Plan and implement hardware and software upgrades proactively; monitor and maintain network infrastructure and services Ensure operation of a variety of network environments; provide support and management for multiple network infrastructure systems Maintain precise, detailed documentation for the change control process and the technical documentation repository Deploy and support ACI solutions in Data Centers; build and support ACI connectivity in multiple locations Install and configure Cisco routers (ASR 1000s) and switches (4500s, 9300s); manage Layer 3 routing (BGP, OSPF) Deploy Meraki SD-WAN across multiple locations (pilot phase; full rollout planned) Manage Cisco wireless controllers and APs (9800s); transition from Cisco Prime to DNAC Set and manage deadlines and participate in design of Disaster Recovery planning Assist in creation of test plans and scripts for backup and recovery solutions Qualifications
Minimum Education : Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science required, or relevant network engineering experience which may substitute on a 1-to-1 basis Minimum Work Experience : 7 years hands-on systems engineering experience; healthcare industry experience preferred Experience configuring and installing network devices and services (routers, switches, load balancers, VPN, QoS) Strong ability to perform network maintenance, system upgrades, security configurations; monitor performance and ensure availability Capable of engineering and deploying network infrastructure systems design and configuration; integration into existing technologies Understanding of standard networking protocols, virtual environments, and hybrid cloud Excellent documentation skills for change control and technical repositories Ability to participate in ITIL processes and incident/change management Benefits / Additional Details
