The Head of Surgical Sales will lead the distribution efforts of CZM products in the surgical ophthalmology market. The Head of Surgical Sales is responsible for all sales-related activities, including national sales meetings, the National Account Program, and career enhancement programs.
Responsibilities
Direct sales organization towards achievement of annual sales and profit plan, including providing interim forecasts, adjustments, etc., as required. Plan, organize, staff, train, and develop competent sales and sales leadership teams. Develop, recommend, implement, and manage annual expense budget, compensation plan, and special motivational programs. Participate in and contribute to sales and marketing plans, new product development plans, OEM opportunities, and other programs that aid the company’s progress toward objectives. Support product launch campaigns for all SUR products now and in the future. Lead Commercialization of launches to success. Contribute to executive staff team on all matters related to general strategy and management of CZM Ophthalmic products. Plan, organize, and conduct various sales organization meetings and discussion groups, including annual National Sales Meeting, sales management meetings, and pre-strategy meetings for major conventions. Work closely with other key stakeholders to ensure success for the SUR Sales team. Marketing, Product Management, Finance, HR, Director of Retina Business, Director of Anterior Business, Sales Training, and Executive Leadership team. Establish minimum standards and expectations around CRM management, CurioZ trainings, Certifications around products for the US. Monthly Pipeline calls, Retina / Anterior Business updates with Head of OPT. Additional Responsibilities
Identify and develop strategic alliances with complementary companies to broaden our sales opportunities. Maintain and motivate an elite independent or distribution channel. (CTI, IOLs, Consumables where applicable with Katalyst or ZEISS products). Oversee the development of employees and encourage an open-door environment and fair standards of performance. Qualifications
Experienced business leader with BS/BS (MBA preferred) degree or equivalent experience. Normally requires twelve-plus (12+) years of progressive responsibility in Sales management experience within the medical device industry. Senior sales management experience selling diagnostic and or surgical products to Ophthalmologists and Optometrists is essential. Experience leading leaders is essential to this role. Having a National Presence will be key to success. Ability to analyze complex situations and make policy decisions on a regular basis. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The annual pay range for this position is $169,100 - $211,400. The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, and complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
