Job Summary
This position is responsible for supervising the provision of sports information services to the Department of Athletics. Work extended hours that can include weekend and holidays. This position is designated by the institution Campus Security Authority (CSA). Responsibilities
Develops, implements, and oversees short- and long-term communications strategies aimed at both campus and community markets. Develops and implements short- and long-term strategic media relations plans for athletic events; disseminates information regarding all NAIA sports programs. Designs, edits, produces, and distributes sports information through media guides, game programs, video productions, etc. Prepares and publicizes events of College of Coastal Georgia Athletics using various media outlets. Designs, develops, organizes and maintains the athletics website. Directly supervises the operation of press box/press row during home athletic events including public address, videostreaming broadcasts, in-game statistics record keeping, scoreboard operations and clock operations as required. Provides media and general public results and game information; Compiles post-game statistics and circulate game information to media. Makes recommendations for conference and national awards/scholarships. Performs related work as required. Required Qualifications
Baccalaureate degree in journalism, sports management or other related discipline. Familiar with using desktop publishing programs, including Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator or similar tools. More than three years of experience in sports information operations the collegiate level. Expertise in using athletic statistical software and a background in information technology and social media tools. Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in a field related to sports information and/or sports management. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of using athletic statistical software. Knowledge of social media development and use. Knowledge of using publishing software. Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs. Skill in managing student volunteers. Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions. Skill in oral and written communication.
