We are currently hiring an experienced
Specialty Care Medical Director
in Milwaukee, WI. This is a full-time position.
Why Progressive Community Health Centers? Founded in 1999, Progressive Community Health Centers is an independent non-profit organization that operates four clinic locations in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. More than 100 employees support our agency's mission to improve the health and quality of life of the community by providing culturally competent services that address identified needs. We provide high quality, comprehensive care to roughly 16,000 patients annually, a majority of who are low-income. No one is ever turned away from our clinics based on insurance status or ability to pay. We value a patient-centered philosophy and provide range of services that include family medicine, internal medicine, women\'s health, urgent care, dental, radiology and integrated behavioral health. We also offer supportive services such as case management, health education and benefits enrollment.
Summary Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the Specialty Care Medical Director oversees clinical quality and operational outcomes for the specialty departments including Obstetrics and Gynecology, Podiatry, Urgent Care, and Clinical Pharmacy. This role is responsible for provider oversight, advancing programming, contributing to budget discussions, focusing on service, improving quality and reducing health disparities. The Specialty Care Medical Director is also an active clinician responsible for providing specialty medical services.
Responsibilities
Provides direct patient care
Oversees clinical quality by ensuring excellent patient-centered care, achievement of clinical outcomes, and high ratings of patient satisfaction
Assures collaboration within the department as well as across all service areas to meet the needs of the patient
Develops strategies and protocols to ensure successful implementation and performance related to patient care and coordination
Recruits, interviews and prepares recommendations for hiring providers
Supervises and maintains excellent provider relationships
Manages and resolves clinical personnel issues
Performs annual performance evaluations for providers
Recommends and participates in final determination of disciplinary actions and terminations as appropriate
Leads and motivates a high-performance team
Furthers a culture of continuous improvement through ongoing training and development of all staff
Actively directs department meetings
Develops and implements programs and/or services that integrate Progressive\'s specialty medical practices with other service lines
Collaborate with hospital systems to optimize collaboration, shared coverage of patients, and surgical needs
Reviews and approves time off; approves timecards
Assists in the development of the budget and adheres to approved budget
Actively participates in internal and external committees as appropriate
Supports, communicates, and works within the scope of PCHC\'s Mission, Vision and Values
Helps others and personally responds well to change
Sets and meets well articulated individual and team expectations of high performance
Assists with the development of grants or reports and meets deadlines accordingly
Assists in the development of and adheres to policies and procedures
Positively represents PCHC in community
Completes special projects/duties as assigned
Requirements
Five to ten years of clinical experience including ambulatory care
Three to five years of leadership experience
Three to Five years of experience collaborating with hospital systems
Current Wisconsin licensure and DEA license
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree (MD or DO) from an accredited university with completion of residency programming
Board certified in a related Medical Specialty
Prior work experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center with a diverse patient population

This is a mandatory requirement for Progressive Community Health Centers.
