The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team. This role will be hybrid in LinkedIn's Mountain View campus. We are looking for an engineering Manager to join our Enterprise Infrastructure Engineering team. Our infrastructure empowers every developer, operator and employee by making it effortless to access, build and operate the workloads they need to do their jobs and enhance productivity. We create frictionless secure and AI-first environments where automation is the default, compliance is built-in and resources are optimized for performance, cost and sustainability. By doing so, we will enable teams at LinkedIn to innovate faster, reduce operational burden and deliver enterprise grade reliability at scale. In this role, you will be leading a team of engineers to develop and manage products, services that help manage and scale our enterprise infrastructure. Responsibilities: You will help and lead the teams that design, implement, and optimize the performance of large-scale distributed systems with security and compliance in mind. You will participate in design and code review sessions to maintain our high development and craft standards in designing and developing systems. Managing your team's performance and careers, plus owning major parts of LinkedIn's products (design, architecture, coding). Helping senior management with long-term tech plans. Being a great role model and coach for engineers, pushing for action and quality work. Working with other teams to share and use the same technology. Leading teams to scale applications, making smart architectural choices, reviewing code, and delivering fast and well. Building awesome, scalable, user-focused applications that support on-prem and Azure cloud infrastructure. Making sure software is top-notch, unit tested, code reviewed, and regularly checked in. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or related practical experience. 1+ year(s) of management experience or 1+ year(s) of staff level engineering experience with management training. 5+ years experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions. 5+ years programming experience in object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Java, Javascript, C/C++. Hands on experience developing distributed systems, large scale purpose driven systems, databases and/or backend APIs. Preferred Qualifications: MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline. 2+ years of hands-on software engineering/technical management and people management experience. 3+ years working with production systems. Experience in technology and strategic leadership role in a large organization. Experience designing and building infrastructure and web services at large scale. Experience in building and testing of highly reliable, available and scalable large-scale distributed systems and client-server architectures. Shipped big projects with lots of team dependencies. Involved in creating and executing tech strategy. Good at coaching and mentoring team members. Proven track record in hiring awesome engineering teams. Suggested Skills: Technical Leadership.
