Registered Nurse – Oncology Travel Position Location: Asheville, NC Job Type: Travel Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3×12s Nights Pay: $2,077.20/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts) Job Description We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare facility in Asheville, NC on a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment, supporting them and their families throughout their journey. The ideal candidate has strong oncology experience, excellent critical thinking skills, and a commitment to delivering safe, evidence-based, patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to patients receiving chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and other oncology treatments. Monitor patients for treatment responses, side effects, and complications, intervening promptly as needed. Administer prescribed medications, chemotherapy agents, and supportive therapies accurately and in accordance with protocols. Collaborate with physicians, oncologists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans. Educate patients and families on treatment plans, symptom management, and available support resources. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record. Adhere to infection control standards, safety guidelines, and evidence-based practices in oncology nursing. Qualifications Current and valid RN license in North Carolina (or compact eligibility). Minimum 1–2 years of recent oncology nursing experience in an acute care setting. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred. Strong clinical assessment, communication, and decision-making skills in complex care situations. Compassionate and supportive approach to caring for oncology patients and their families.
