Job Summary

BARISTA - Part-time position at Restaurant Associates

Location: 111 8th Avenue, 13th Floor, New York, NY 10011. Note: online applications accepted only.

Schedule: Part-time. Monday – Thursday, hours may vary. More details upon interview.

Pay: Fixed rate $32.32 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Makes and serves coffee/espresso drinks and related food and beverage items.
• Handles food according to HACCP guidelines and standards for quality food-service operations.
• Interacts with customers and other employees in a friendly, courteous manner.
• Prepares espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes.
• Enters orders accurately into POS device; processes cash and card payments.
• Replenishes condiments, beverages and general supplies; maintains cleanliness of service area.
• Ensures proper presentation, portion control and serving temperatures; follows HACCP standards.
• Maintains sanitation and orderliness of equipment, supplies and utensils.
• Ensures proper food preparation by using approved recipes and following production standards.
• Keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during service.
• Cleans equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments.
• Greets customers courteously and facilitates customer satisfaction; relays concerns to supervisors.
• Serves customers quickly and efficiently, preventing delays in serving lines.
• Explains daily menu items accurately to customers.
• Supports selling techniques to assist in customer decision-making.
• Merchandises display foods attractively and serves food neatly per standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required: Strong hospitality experience and the ability to operate and maintain an espresso machine/grinder.
