Role Description
:
Position provides support to engineering design team by providing layout, detailed drawings, sketches, diagrams, etc.
Job Responsibilities
:
Read and maintain an understanding of Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID's) Perform field ISO sketches with the proper symbols Perform drawing corrections Perform field verifications Utilize safe work practices and basic safety PPE as may be necessary Perform entry in AutoCAD Use AutoCAD or drafting software to develop designs Complete new CAD drawings to file for reference purposes Update existing CAD drawings to reflect modifications and improvements to existing jobs Develop sketches on proposed drawings and flow sheets Confirm designs are consistent with site drafting and engineering standards Maintain and organize drawing filing system Work with engineering, other professionals, and SMEs to obtain input to recommendations Participate in technical reviews of specifications, designs, codes, and other requirements
Qualifications & Skills for S
uccess:
Associate's Degree in Drafting or a drafting certification is desired
Minimum of 3 years of experience working drafting and design in the petrochemical industry (preferred) Knowledgeable of various petrochemical standards and codes: ANSI, ASME, PFI, etc.
Ability to read and understand multiple discipline drawings including piping, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, civil, structural, and architectural Ability to comprehend rough sketches and specifications in order to update existing drawings as well as creating new drawings Proficiency with AutoCAD #INDG
