Job Title: Quality Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a proactive Quality Technician to ensure our products consistently meet high quality and food safety standards within our production environment. The role involves daily inspections, testing, and documentation to uphold company and regulatory expectations.

Responsibilities

Adhere to company policies related to food safety, cleanliness, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Perform routine checks on product quality, including texture, color, taste, and packaging of chocolate.

Identify and report any issues related to food safety or product defects.

Assist with complaint investigations and help implement corrective actions.

Support internal audits and training efforts to meet SQF and food safety standards.

Monitor and document product holds and releases.

Conduct inspections of cocoa beans and support supplier quality improvements.

Maintain accurate records and logs of inspections and product status.

Coordinate product releases to ensure quality checks do not delay production.

Fill in for other quality team members as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

Quality assurance and control

Quality inspection and food inspection

Experience working in GMP environments

Good documentation practices

Proficiency in food production processes

Additional Skills & Qualifications

3+ years of experience in food production and quality control

Familiarity with food safety programs like SQF or FSMA is a plus

Proficiency in basic computer programs such as Microsoft Excel and Word

Strong attention to detail and procedural adherence

Effective communication skills and teamwork

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $36.00/hr.
