Position Highlights

This position guides campus partners through the development, maintenance, and onboarding of online academic programs, certificates, and courses. It is responsible for managing both new and existing programs within the portfolio, ensuring smooth administrative processes, and maintaining transparency between Arizona Online and campus stakeholders. The role collects and analyzes enrollment and forecasting data, manages course development workflows, and provides ongoing program maintenance to support institutional goals. The Academic Program Officer II ensures that academic partners have the resources and implementation support necessary to successfully transition and sustain their programs in the fully online modality.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collects and analyzes enrollment and forecasting data to assess and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Utilizes UAccess analytics and related reporting tools to support data-driven decision making by the leadership team.
  • Guides campus partners through the process of onboarding new online courses, certificates, and degree programs.
  • Coordinates and plans the administration and operation of academic programs, including policy development, budgeting, cost negotiation, expenditure forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Ensures timely and efficient implementation of new program in alignment with Arizona Online standards and processes.
  • Builds and sustains relationships with internal and external partners to ensure administrative processes are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Creates best practice guides, web content, and other resources to inform and support campus partners.
  • Manages existing programs in the portfolio, providing ongoing maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting to ensure continues success and alignment with institutional priorities.

  • Ability to collect, interpret, and apply enrollment and forecasting data to inform program decision-making.
  • Skill in coordinating and managing the administration of academic programs, including budgeting, policy implementation, and resource allocation.
  • Ability to manage academic processes and workflows effectively.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills to work with faculty, staff, and campus partners.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Skill in preparing and delivering clear, concise reports and presentations to support program goals and leadership decisions.
  • Ability to anticipate challenges and develop effective solutions.
  • Critical thinking skills.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with higher education policies, structures and practices, particularly in online learning and program management.
  • Experience working with university administrative systems such as UAccess Student, UAccess Analytics, and schedule of classes/RCS processes.
  • Experience developing professional resources, including best practice guides, web content, or program documentation.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims.
