Overview

This position serves as an administrative assistant for the School's Center for Research on Learning and Technology (CRLT), which engages in research and practice by using pedagogy, technology, learning theory and 21st-century classroom knowledge to address challenges and support innovative learning practices and designs.

Responsibilities

  • Department Specific Responsibilities: Provides administrative support to CRLT faculty, students and staff; processes procurement orders, identifies vendors, coordinates center travel, hospitality, event support and room reservations; processes research participation payments and purchases related to grants; evaluates office production and improves office procedures and forms to enhance efficiency and workflow.
  • General Responsibilities: Provides administrative support to a department or group of professionals while handling confidential information with tact and diplomacy; uses business software to prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, agendas and minutes; handles incoming calls, visitors, mail and email promptly and courteously; schedules and coordinates appointments, meetings and travel; participates in developing and implementing administrative standards, policies and practices; may support the internal website and social media.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).
  • Work Experience: 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Skills: Excellent organizational skills; ability to maintain confidentiality; strong verbal communication and listening skills; good judgment and decision-making; ability to manage multiple priorities; maintains composure under pressure.

Additional Information

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and operate a computer and standard office equipment. The position is sedentary with periods of time moving around an office and campus. The successful candidate must be able to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
