Overview
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain.
Responsibilities
- Move and implement large enterprise equipment
- Patch cabling between equipment
- Install fiber and copper cabling
- Ensure proper safety and security standards are maintained during cabling and rack installation
- Follow established hardware installation procedures and break-fix activities
- Safely use material handling tools and equipment
- Manage work and priorities through ticketing systems and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles
- Troubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including device configuration and low-level application interaction
- Travel up to 20% within the geographical work area (some travel outside area, including internationally)
- Participate in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
- Move and lift equipment up to 40 lbs
Physical Requirements
- Walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch
- Work at heights and from ladders
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds unassisted; participate in group lifts for 50 pounds or more
- Must be able to lift loads of up to 40 pounds and carry them for short distances
- Continuously climb and descend stairs safely (applies to sites with stairs)
- Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance
- Push or pull heavy objects into position
- Daily travel between sites may be required
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Overtime as required

Basic Qualifications
- Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment and troubleshooting methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience

The base pay for this position ranges from $50,600/year in the lowest geographic market up to $113,200/year in the highest geographic market.
