About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med-surg Adult Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7p-7a Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum years of experience not specified License: Current license as a registered nurse or eligibility for reciprocity Certifications: BLS certification, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Ability to assess patient care needs and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team Description: This position is expected to assess patients' nursing care needs. Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided. Integrate nursing theory into clinical practice. Apply nursing theory to assess, treat, and evaluate safe patient care. Continue to analyze ongoing assessment data to determine safe patient outcomes. Collaborate and integrate information from patients and families while working with multi-disciplinary team members. Maintain adequate records reflecting patient conditions, medications, and treatments. Make rounds and check the condition of assigned patients to ensure maximum care and determine the need for additional or modified services. Act as a patient and family advocate and liaison between medical staff and patients. Demonstrate openness to new approaches, methods, or technology in the ever-changing healthcare setting. Interact with all visitors, providers, co-workers, and other departments in a customer-friendly, courteous, and professional manner. Develop patient care plans using critical and analytical skills based on patient condition, age, psychological, educational, and socioeconomic conditions. Prescribe interventions to attain expected outcomes. Collaboratively coordinate the continuum of care across multi-disciplinary team settings. Effectively apply technical knowledge to problem-solve. Act as a role model and resource for other staff members. Maintain skills and competency related to special equipment, medications, and procedures common to the patient population. Utilize, adhere, and support departmental standards and practice guidelines. Display and promote company values. Initiate and assist with patient and family education concerning diagnosis, medical management, medications, activity, discharge plans, and home care. Notify appropriate staff of changes in patient census for staff adjustments. Apply nursing theory to the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses to health and illness. Implement emergency care procedures in actual or potential emergencies according to departmental policies and procedures. Monitor and adjust specialized equipment utilized on patients. Recommend process improvements for increased efficiencies. Cross-train to other departments as needed. Demonstrate flexibility in schedule and willingness to work additional hours or alternate shifts. Complete education for professional growth and technical knowledge. Maintain regular attendance in accordance with attendance policy.
