About The Position Job Title: RN Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Ability to self-study telemetry strips and pass a basic dysrhythmia test Description: Traveler will be responsible for self-studying telemetry strips upon acceptance. A basic dysrhythmia test will be given during the first week of the assignment. This test must be passed in order to work on the telemetry/med surg unit. Delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Coordinates care with other health team members. Effectively interacts with patients and significant others while maintaining high standards of professional nursing. Provides high-quality care to patient populations including geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, and telemetry. ACLS certification is required. Estimated workweek is 36 hours. Floating to non-critical care inpatient units is required, including to the emergency department if there are boarded patients. If the traveler has critical care experience, floating to a critical care unit may occasionally occur. Every other weekend rotation is required. Cerner EMR is utilized. Telemetry ratios are currently 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights. Medical/surgical ratios are currently 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights.
