Heavy Equipment Operator Job at Waste Connections of New York in Harper

Plum Thicket Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing team in Harper, Kansas.

Pay: $19 - $22 per hour, based on your experience

Duties And Responsibilities

• Spreading and compacting trash using a compactor
• Spreading daily cover using a Dozer
• Excavating soil using an excavator
• Maintaining haul roads using a grader
• Hauling soil
• Work in a fast-paced, team environment
• Follow safe operating practices
• Learn and use interpersonal skills relating to good customer service

Working Conditions And Physical Effort

• Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 60 pounds.
• The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.

Minimum Job Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English.
• 2 years of experience preferred.
