Honeywell is seeking an Advanced Hardware Engineer in Minneapolis, MN on a hybrid schedule. The role involves leading and driving the hardware design process to deliver high-quality and reliable electronic hardware within the Sensing Guidance and Navigation Center of Excellence engineering team. You will work on inertial products used across platforms from planes and trains to satellites and launch vehicles, participating in cross-functional teams on new product development programs.

Base pay

$112,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

The annual base salary range for this position is $112,000 - $140,000. This information serves as a general guideline and Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer.

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota. Work arrangement: Hybrid.

Responsibilities

  • Execute Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) design and development project tasks (architecture and planning, requirement definition, analog/digital/power-conversion circuit design, analysis, PB layout review, verification/test, etc.) following established engineering methodologies for new hardware development.
  • Guide engineers, technicians and associates to ensure project and product requirement compliance.
  • Convey complex messages clearly via presentations and written communication to technical audiences including leadership and external customers.
  • Consult with suppliers to ensure product and project compliance.
  • Communicate non-compliance incidents and results of internal audits to stakeholders. Identify and execute cost, schedule, and technical efficiency improvements.

Qualifications

MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline (sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics).
  • 4+ years of Electrical Engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in lab testing and debugging of complex electronic circuits.

We value

  • Significant experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and logic analyzers to characterize and solve problems in electronics circuit card assemblies.
  • Experience designing with modern processing technologies and architectures including micro-processors, FPGAs, ASICs; DDR and flash memories; high-speed interconnects; interfaces to sensors and guidance electronics.
  • Proficiency with Mentor Graphics Xpedition, HyperLynx (Signal and Power Integrity), Timing Analysis, Decoupling Analysis, and LTSpice.
  • Strong aptitude for low-noise analog and sensor interface design, signal processing and conversion.
  • SPICE simulation experience with parametric modification and validation including Monte Carlo techniques.
  • Ability to generate PB layout constraint guidelines, oversee the layout and fabrication of the design.
  • Experience ensuring designs meet DO-254 for Avionics Hardware Development and Certification.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams; self-motivated with initiative to get things done.
  • Ability to make timely decisions while balancing risk.
