Overview
As an Advanced Hardware Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be a key contributor to the design and development of cutting-edge hardware solutions. You will report directly to our Sr. Engineering Manager and work out of our Clearwater, Florida location on a Hybrid work schedule.
You will lead and drive the electrical hardware design process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and reliable electronic hardware within the Sensing Guidance and Navigation Center of Excellence engineering team as we develop new inertial products used on platforms ranging from planes, trains, automobiles to satellites and launch vehicles. You will execute engineering tasks as part of a cross-functional team on new product development programs responsible for concept architecture, requirements, design, analysis, and test of inertial sensor products across a wide range of operating environments for Commercial, Defense and Space customers.

Compensation
The annual base salary range for this position is $106,000 - $132,000. This salary information serves as a general guideline and Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including scope and responsibilities, candidate work experience, education and training, key skills, and market considerations.

Qualifications
MUST HAVE:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
- 4+ years of Electrical Engineering experience.
- 2+ years experience in lab testing and debugging complex electronic circuits
WE VALUE:
- Significant experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and logic analyzers to characterize and troubleshoot electronics circuit card assemblies.
- Experience designing with modern processing technologies and architectures including micro-processors, FPGAs, and ASICs; DDR and flash memories; high-speed physical and wireless communication and interconnects; and interfaces to sensors and guidance electronics.
- Proficiency with Mentor Graphics Xpedition Enterprise Design Suite, HyperLynx analysis (Signal and Power Integrity), Timing Analysis, Decoupling Analysis, and LTSpice.
- Strong aptitude for low-noise analog and sensor interface design and analysis, signal processing and conversion.
- Strong SPICE simulation experience including parametric modification and validation including Monte Carlo techniques.
- Ability to generate PB layout constraint guidelines, oversee the layout and fabrication of the design.
- Experience ensuring designs meet DO-254 for Avionics Hardware Development and Certification.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams to meet internal and external customer expectations; self-motivated with initiative.
- Ability to make timely decisions while balancing risk.

Sensing Guidance and Navigation is a functional organization within Electronics Solutions Engineering (ESE) that develops and provides innovative solutions for Sensors, IMUs, and Guidance & Navigation Systems. Electronic Solutions Engineering is a Strategic Business Enterprise (SBE) of more than 5,000 global employees that develops avionics and electronics products for commercial, military, and space applications, including communication and surveillance systems, electronic controllers, power systems, flight controls, guidance and navigation systems, lighting, and sensors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) design and development project tasks (architecture and planning, requirement definition, analog/digital/power-conversion circuit design, analysis, Printed Board (PB) layout review, and verification/test) by following established engineering methodologies for new hardware development.
- Guide engineers, technicians and associates to ensure project and product requirement compliance.
- Convey complex messages clearly via presentations and written communications to leadership and external customers.
- Consult with suppliers to ensure product and project compliance.
- Communicate any non-compliance incidents and results of internal project audits to stakeholders; identify and execute cost, schedule, and technical efficiency improvements.
