Overview
Base pay range: $15.77/hr - $17.83/hr
This position supports various Departments of Veterans Affairs educational benefit programs for the Veteran and Military Success Center. It involves consulting with veterans, military members and their families about education benefits, resolving problems related to GI Bill benefits, maintaining enrollment records, calculating eligible tuition and fees to be certified to the VA, processing enrollment updates, and ensuring Purdue compliance with VA regulations. The role also assists with campus processes and policies to support military-connected students, including Federal Tuition Assistance, absence policy, and withdrawals for military-connected students. This is an on-campus position with some remote work opportunity based on department needs.

What We’re Looking For
Education and Experience
Qualified Candidates Will Need
- High School Diploma/GED
- Four (4) years of office or administrative experience related to military-connected education benefits, such as the GI Bill, Tuition Assistance, or state-administered veterans’ education benefits
Skills
- Knowledge of customer service
- Excellent data entry skills
- Problem-solving
- Organizational, analytical, communication (oral and written), telephone etiquette, customer service
- Ability to meet deadlines, work with minimal supervision, and work well in a team environment
- Proficient computer and related software skills (word processing, spreadsheets, database, data query, Internet); Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Google
- Understanding of and appreciation for creating a welcoming environment and the ability to work with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of Family Educational Rights and Privacy Acts regulations

The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $15.77 to $17.83 per hour. The final salary offer will be determined based on factors including internal equity, available budget, and relevant experience.
