Orange County Public Schools is hiring: CUSTODIAN in Town of Florida

Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to perform custodial tasks for an assigned school of the district. Employees in this class are responsible for accomplishing a daily routine of custodial tasks that provide school personnel, students, and the public with an environmentally safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to work and conduct school activities.

Examples of essential functions include:

• Respond to internal and external customers in a timely, accurate, courteous, and empathetic manner.
• Use electrical cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, shampoo machines, and high-speed buffers.
• Use appropriate chemicals and cleaners safely and productively.
• Ensure assigned areas are properly opened daily and fully secured upon completion of daily tasks.
• Perform custodial tasks, such as emptying and cleaning waste receptacles, washing windows, dusting furniture, and cleaning vents, fans, and walls.
• Perform sanitizing tasks in various facility areas, including restrooms, kitchens, and food areas.

The minimum training and experience required for this position include a high school diploma or GED preferred, supplemented by previous experience demonstrating the ability to safely and effectively operate standard facility custodial equipment.

The physical demands of the job include the ability to exert heavy physical effort, climb and balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, and lift, carry, push, and pull moderately heavy objects and materials.

Working Hours

Hours are from 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
