Job Description: Ensure the housekeeping department staff are cleaning and maintaining guest rooms and public spaces in accordance with the Marriott Standards and guest expectation of product and service.

Compensation: $21.00

Reports to

Executive Housekeeper and/or designee

Essential Job Functions

  • Oversee housekeeping staff by conducting daily and monthly inspections of the staff's work and providing guidance so deficiencies are corrected and standards are met.
  • Train, recommend performance evaluations, resolve problems, provide open communication and recommend disciplinary actions when appropriate.
  • Adhere to cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning agents.
  • Replenish amenities, linens, and supplies in guest rooms when necessary.
  • Assist in the inspection of cleaned guest rooms, turndown service, public areas and back of house; ensure compliance with accident/loss prevention programs and health/sanitation standards.
  • Maintain and review computerized records.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to direct line staff.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

Required Skills And Abilities

  • Must have ability to communicate in English. Spanish (preferred).
  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times; communicate well with guests.
  • Willing to “pitch in” and help co-workers with their job duties; be a team player.
  • Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extend arms overhead, and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to move throughout the building, bend, stoop, and reach to assist other staff members.
  • Able to utilize computer software and Microsoft Office functions.

Qualifications

Experience working in hospitality in the housekeeping department. Preferred as inspector or supervisory position.
