Overview

Ryder is hiring a Permanent Warehouse Material Handler in Elwood, Illinois. This is a warehouse/forklift operator role with weekly pay and benefits.

Pay

Base pay range: $22.50/hr - $33.75/hr

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse functions which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting
• Ensure accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products, and loading/unloading of trucks
• Handle day-to-day warehouse paperwork (e.g., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading)
• Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during core production shifts
• Perform duties within contract performance measurement guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred
• Valid Forklift Operator's License
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Able to work in a diverse work environment and maintain professional relationships
• Highly thorough, dependable, punctual with good attendance
• Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs; ability to stand for long periods; ability to work with health and safety methods
• Flexible schedule across various shifts
• Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices
