Ryder System, Inc. is hiring: Warehouse Forklift Operator in Elkton

Position Description

Ryder is opening a brand new state of the art warehouse in Port Deposit, MD and is immediately hiring Permanent Full Time Material Handlers. Walk-In Hiring Event dates and details are provided below.

Walk-In Hiring Event

Dates: Tuesday 9/16 and Wednesday 9/17
Times: 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
Address: Hilton Garden Inn, 4160 Philadelphia Rd, Bel Air, MD 21015

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse functions, including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting
• Operate equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, order pickers, pallets jacks, and other related devices
• Accurate picking, packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products, and loading/unloading of trucks
• Handle day-to-day warehouse paperwork (e.g., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading)
• Provide maintenance support for automated packing systems during production shifts
• Perform duties in accordance with contract performance guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred
• Valid Forklift Operator's License certified
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work in a diverse environment
• Ability to build professional relationships across all levels of the organization
• Highly thorough and dependable with good attendance
• Must be punctual and able to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs; stand for long periods
• Willingness to work flexible schedules across various shifts
• Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices
